The mall was packed this weekend, as you can imagine. Since I am about to travel (and make money with my home based part time job while vacationing), I had to face the crowds and get my holiday shopping done. This is the first year that I was able to buy gifts for everyone on my Nice List. I’m sure I beat Santa in Christmas spirit, thanks to the best part time job ever!

Usually around this time of year, I look to my bank account in dread. I consider taking art classes so I can give all my loved ones a nice, cheap painting. Or a mug. Now that I am selling on Amazon with my small home based business, I don’t have to worry about learning how to knit or make glittery ornaments. I can actually give my friends and family things that they need.

I have never walked into a mall feeling so empowered. Yes, I had coupons, but I also had the income of my new part time job. It reminds me of Flo in the car insurance commercials. “It’s like an extra bonus saving.” I’m going to use all my full time job money for bills; I’m going to spend all my home based business income on my family and friends.

I know that the holidays are not about gifts. They are about love. But one of the ways I show my care is through thoughtfulness. I know that my part time job has afforded me the opportunity to be thoughtful to all of the people that make me smile.
